April is Earth Month, which expands upon April 22 being Earth Day. And there are events upon events happening to celebrate Earth Month. I'm excited for all the festivities and can't wait to document them for y'all!
Now, to keep track of it all. In the Lafayette area, there is:
Sunday, April 7: FestiVÉLO downtown in Parc Sans Souci.
Sunday, April 7: Locally produced Sunday Brunch at Pamplona Tapas, presented by EarthShare Gardens.
Monday, April 8-Friday, April 12: Local Bike to Work Week. (The National week is in May.)
Sunday, April 14: Earth Day Festival at Vermilionville. (Read about my trip to the festival in 2010!)
Sunday, April 21: Over in Baton Rouge is Louisiana's Earth Day celebration.
Monday, April 22: The 43rd Annual Earth Day!
Saturday, April 27: Household Chemical Day at Cajun Field. (Where you can also recycle your old cell phones!)

Beyond local events, make sure you get involved this month. Practically Green has a Do One Thing campaign. The EPA tells you why to commit to protect our environment. Take action as part of One Billion Acts of Green.
My personal goal for this Earth Month is to waste less food and throw out fewer leftovers.
What's your goal for this Earth Month?
