Earth Month with My Little One

Y'all know Earth Month is one of my favorite times of year, from the springtime beauty to the many events being held to the focus on the environment and sustainability.

Check out my Earth Month goals from 2018 and Earth Month events in 2017. And let's reminisce on 2015, when I debuted Eco Cajun's updated look and layout, and 2018, when I made a special announcement!

This year is no different, even if I'm still in the mindset of "Wait...is it really April already!?" (Nothing like trying to catch up and only be a little behind, rather than actually be prepared in advance, ha!)

With the change in my routine, I've also got a change in perspective. I got to thinking a couple weeks back about how I can involve my daughter in my Earth Month activities this year. And now I'm more excited than I've been in awhile.

It's absolutely going to be a busy month, especially with other things we've got on our schedule, so I tried to keep my bucket list realistic. So far, we've got:

  • Participate in the Project Front Yard Trash Bash. Y'all, I'm so excited for her first litter cleanup!
  • Visit the library and check out a few children's books for bedtime stories and look into getting her a library card.
  • Use our cloth diapers on the weekends.
  • Attend the Vermilionville Earth Day festival.
  • Go for evening walks as a family at least once a week. Girlfriend loves to be outside, so this one will be pretty easy, weather permitting.
  • Put together an eco-friendly Easter basket for Ari. I'm also very excited for and will probably put it together two weeks early.
  • Go to the local nursery for succulents. No, I'm not mentally planning a baby/plant photoshoot...
  • Take a trip to the farmer's market. This might happen in May, but who says we can't extend Earth Month even longer?

As I check each item off the list, I'll write a feature blog post on it!

What are you looking forward to doing this Earth Month?
